Ch. 11

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT

Jesus in the truth I am living by ~ HE is the truth I am believing. Do I remember to do this all the time? Unfortunately my meek and faint-hearted mind forgets this, and is tempting into believing the lies that surround me, begging to be listened to, delighting in my failings.

“They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.” (Rom. 1:25)

This is one of those verses that I sometimes glance over and think ~ boy I’m glad that’s not me! I haven’t done that. I only worship God. I only serve God. Read it again…“They traded the TRUTH about God for a LIE”. I am certainly been believing my fair share of lies about myself. I have spent TOO long trading God’s TRUTH about me, for the lies that this world fills my mind with. It doesn’t then say “and” they worshiped…it says “SO they worshiped…”. The word “so” is a conjunction ~ it links a cause and effect, a result, a consequence.

I have worshiped and served the things of this world BECAUSE I traded the truth about God for a lie.

Does it have to remain that way ~ NO! Let me share some verses about truth and some cause and effect consequences that will result in your life if you believe. This is the truth I live by ~ THIS is the truth I believe…

“Send out your light and your TRUTH; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.” Psalm 43:3

God’s TRUTH will light the way and GUIDE me.

“Lead me by your TRUTH and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.” Psalm 25:5

God SAVES me and LEADS me and TEACHES me.

“Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your TRUTH! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.” Psalm 86:11

God’s TRUTH will teach me. I can be purified and honor him when I live by it.

“The very essence of your words is TRUTH; all your just regulations will stand forever.” Psalm 119:160

God’s Word breathes TRUTH. His intrinsic nature and character IS TRUTH.

“But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of TRUTH. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.” John 15:26

God has sent His Holy Spirit to live IN us. The TRUTH is IN us, lies are just something that we allow to come in and effect that TRUTH.

“When the Spirit of TRUTH comes, he will guide you into all TRUTH. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” John 16:13

That Spirit of TRUTH will GUIDE me with God’s Word.

“Stand your ground, putting on the belt of TRUTH and the body armor of God’s righteousness.” Ephesians 6:14

God’s TRUTH is part of the armor that He provides and protects us with. We just need to believe it ~ read it, return to it, remember it.

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the TRUTH you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7

God’s TRUTH will BUILD ME UP! It will STRENGTHEN my FAITH and cause me to overflow with thankfulness.

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

~ I will be free to live my life according to the will of God.

~ I will be free to serve Him in whatever capacity He leads me to.

~ I will be free to believe that I am worth more ~ more than the lies that cover the truth.

~ I will allow this truth to teach, correct, and train me (2 Timothy 3:16).

~ I will allow God’s truth to strengthen me, and be my portion (Psalm 73:26).

~ I will run to God who is my  refuge and strength and ALWAYS present (Psalm 46:1)

The TRUTH:

~ I am a child of God (John 1:12).

~ I am redeemed (Colossians 1:13-14)

~ I am God’s temple (1 Corinthians 3:16)

~ I am made by God to do good works FOR Him (Ephesians 2:10)

~ I am a conqueror (Romans 8:37)

This is the TRUTH I believe ~ This is the TRUTH that I live by.

You can believe and live by it too. You can be FREE.
