I was immediately struck by Vicki Courtney’s vulnerable honesty as she introduced the reader to her book: “Move On: When Mercy Meets Your Mess” along with the permission to come “out of our hiding places to remind each other what God’s grace really looks like.”

Move On

This is one of the most honest and vulnerable books I have read in a long time. Vicki was writing the cries of my heart. So much so that when she said the words: “My eyes filled with tears…” (p3) ~ my eyes filled with tears! She uses Scripture throughout the book and challenges common thoughts and familiar phrases such as “Stay true to yourself.” Vicki has a common theme of GRACE running through the book and deals with issues such as “God’s Purpose in Hardship”, being out of our comfort-zone, starting over, laying down baggage, forgiveness, shame, seeking approval, idolatry, and mercy, among others. She tells us that: “Moving on is only possible when our hearts are yielded to Christ and reliant upon His mercy and perfection” (p185) and she reassures us with Scripture that: “Mercy will never leave your side” (p189). Thank you Vicki for sharing your heart and speaking truth, light, and hope into every heart that picks up this book!

Thank you to BookLook Bloggers for providing me with a complimentary copy of “Move On:When Mercy Meets Your Mess” and the opportunity to review this book.
